    The 32-year-old, who currently plays for FC Seoul in South Korea, was a team-mate of Rooney between 2011 and 2017. During an interview with the Daily Mail, Lingard was asked about the situation and revealed that Rooney wanted to keep him and the Academy players in the frame.

    “When you get into the first team, you know, you have to know the place, know the right time to do things and stuff like that – but what about breaking the culture? We try to make it stronger. We respond to success, we smile, we laugh and win games. That’s a good culture, right?”
